Todd Meadows, 25, a deckhand on Deadliest Catch, tragically passed away on February 25, 2026, during a fishing-related incident in the Bering Sea while aboard the Aleutian Lady crab vessel. According to his death certificate, the official cause of death was “drowning with probable hypothermia” and “submersion of body in cold water”, and the incident was classified as an accident. His body was later transported to Anchorage, Alaska, and cremated

The accident occurred while the reality show was filming season 22, near the end of the production cycle. Captain Rick Shelford confirmed Meadows’ death on Facebook, describing it as “the most tragic day in the history of the Aleutian Lady” and paying tribute to Meadows’ work ethic, love for fishing, and his family

. The crew and producers reportedly provided support to cast and crew following the incident, and a GoFundMe was established to assist Meadows’ family, including his three children
